The Chennai Super Kings have strengthened their position at the top of the cricket20 power rankings after claiming their second IPL title at the weekend.The Chennai Super Kings became the first team to win back to back IPL titlse after their comprehensive 58 run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.Murali Vijay led the way with a man of the match performance with the bat, scoring 95 runs to help the Chennai Super Kings reach 205-5 after MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first.Despite suffering a heavy defeat the Royal Challengers Bangalore move up into second place just ahead of the Mumbai Indians who end the tournament as the third best team in the world.Just behind the trio of IPL franchises are the West End Redbacks who won the KFC Big Bash in January, the Redbacks will take part in Septembers t20 Champions League before the team is replaced by the new Big Bash league franchise the Adelaide Strikers.Rounding out the top five are the Hampshire Royals who get their Friends Life t20 title defence under way tonight against the Somerset Sabres at the Rose Bowl in a rematch of last years dramatic final.

As the name suggests, the team is based in the Indian city of Chennai. The team is owned by a company called India Cements, which is run by M. Srinivasan. He is also the secretary of BCCI which is the governing body of the game in the country. Captain of the team is M. S. Dhoni, who also happens to be the captain of the Indian national cricket team in both the formats of the game. The team exclusively participates in the IPL & in the T20 Champions League. Other notable players in the team include Suresh Raina, Michael Hussy, Albie Morkel, Dwayne Bravo, Tim Southee, Scott Styris etc. The team has an excellent record in IPL having won the tournament twice already in 2010 & 2011.
